We had a great day today in school. This class is a lot of fun. We have a new system for rewarding students who follow the rules. Several children today earned "Pride Cash"! They followed all of the rules in class, the hallway, in Art class, and in the cafeteria. Someday they will get to shop in the class store! :-)
We had an amazing time at Chocolate World & Zoo America. We had a great Animal Educational Guide that taught us many things about the animals. We got to see a bear, prairie dogs, and an elk. We even heard the elk's bugle sound. The guide said that was a treat. Thank you to all of the wonderful chaperones that accompanied us on the trip. You were a great help!
Our class won a party because of YOU! We won because we had the most parents join the PTO. Thank you so much. The $5 that you donated will go to parties, recess toys, field trips, etc. You are the BEST!
This Friday, we will welcome Ms. Leffler to our classroom. Ms. Leffler is attending Kutztown University and will be with us for a few weeks. We are very excited!
I just wanted to give a "SHOUT OUT" to all who donated old or unused phone books. Our class alone collected, 1066 phone books to be recycled and used for the protection of our furry friends. Awesome!
Please check out some new learning websites for kids! Hopefully I will be getting your child's passwords for Study Island soon! I will keep you posted!
This week will be fun filled week! We will be learning about apple, our constitution, and we will begin our FIRST GRADE READER! Yay! It's called, Ad
Thank you very much for making our Open House successful! It was so nice to meet you and for you to see your child's classroom. I can't wait to see your child's face when they see the Love Note that you left for them. We are off to a great year!
Almost everyone earned a 100% on our First Spelling Test! Wow! I am very pleased! We added six new words into our Spelling/Word Study Notebook. Please continue to practice and study these Memory Words with your child. It is so important! Remember...if your child did not receive a 100%, I will retest on Tuesday. My goal is to have everyone succeed!
Today was a great day! We went over the Pride rules, collected lunch money, checked bus tickets, and read an awesome book called, "The Kissing Hand". Remember to kiss your child on the palm of his/her hand! We also practiced an intruder alert drill. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the whole JSC will practice together! The children were great!
Sorry about all the paper work. Please complete the papers as soon as you can and send into school with your child. |
